Stony Creek Studios is pleased to present a group exhibition of student work in watercolor and oils. The Student Show, which is open to the pubic, will run from November 15-22, with an opening reception on November 15 from 2-5pm. The work of more than twenty students of the studio will be featured. Subject matter includes landscape and still life. Much of the work will be offered for sale. Personal check or cash accepted.
Stony Creek Studios is a teaching studio and gallery in the scenic shoreline village of Stony Creek, in Branford, CT. The location of the studio provides students the opportunity for both Plein Air and studio classes with Maureen Wilkinson and Christine Chiocchio, accomplished local artists. Classes in drawing, oil painting and watercolor are offered throughout the year. Courses in other media or disciplines are offered on an ad hoc basis based on student interests.
The Student Show will run through November 22nd. The teachers and artists will be present at the opening reception Sunday, November 15 from 2-6pm in the gallery at 152 Thimble Island Rd in Branford, CT. The show can also be viewed Saturday, November 21 and Sunday November 22nd from 10am – 4pm, or by appointment. Guided expressive art and writing exercises that help participants explore the intuitive, imagistic right side of the brain and transform negative thoughts and emotions into positive, life-affirming responses.
This workshop is an opportunity to get playful, to facilitate healing from illness, loss of a loved one, or navigate any of life’s challenging passages in a supportive group environment.

Bob Noreika will hold a three day workshop, June 25-27th, on Little Governor’s Island with Maureen Wilkinson.
In case of rain, the workshop will be held indoors at Stony Creek Studios. Although Bob will be working in watercolor and acrylic during his demonstrations, any medium is welcome.

November 23-24th 10am-4pm Stony Creek Studios co-owners Christine and Maureen will be participating in the 11th annual Shoreline Arts Trail Open Studios Weekend.
As the Shoreline Arts Trail website states, “The Shoreline ArtsTrail was initiated in 2002 by a small group of artists and artisans in the Connecticut shoreline towns of Branford, Guilford and Madison. Their intent was to create an annual Open Studios event as a showcase to allow local residents and weekend visitors to interact with the artists and to experience the creative process first-hand.”
Maureen will spend the weekend showcasing her work at Stony Creek Studios [152 Stony Creek Rd, Branford]. Christine will be right across the street in her studio [161 Thimble Islands Rd]. Visit both anytime between 10am and 4pm Saturday or Sunday!
